What's so great about Sports and Remedial Massage?
Massage, applied skillfully, is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system. Received regularly this will help to prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse. A constant build up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, and tendons, as well as the muscles themselves. Left undetected, these stresses can lead to muscle imbalances, pain or discomfort, and injury.
For thousands of years one of our natural instincts to aches and pains has been to "rub it better". As a sports massage therapist I will apply a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, in particular the muscular and skeletal systems, to the action of "rubbing it better". I will work on the soft tissues of the body, including
muscles, ligaments and tendons, to deliver you a deep tissue massage.
As a professional and an athlete, I have first hand experience of how massage will benefit the sports person and become an integral part of the individuals training program. Without regular treatments over the years, my body would have, undoubtedly, broken down. Yours could too!
Sporty?
Sports and Remedial Massage has many benefits for everyone taking part in sport -- from the occasional sportsman to elite athletes. If you regularly take part in sport there is no doubt that sports massage will have an enormous impact on your performance.
Injured?
Post injury massage will help you to recover more quickly and get you back into training sooner.
Not Injured?
Regular preventative treatment allows you to train to your full potential, avoid injury, and recover from training optimally. As a sports massage therapist I will help you by ensuring your muscles are in peak condition to allow you to perform to your best ability.
Not So Sporty?
Sports and remedial massage can also be helpful for those suffering from everyday stresses and strains, such as occupational or posture related aches and pains. My most regular client is not an athlete, but a typist who spends most of her day sitting at a desk.
